Biography

Milind Raikar in his infancy – born for Music, engrossed in his sweet little world of drums , rhythm & melody which he often used to ‘hum’ to himself.

Everyone imagined that he would become an excellent ‘Drummer’. A child born to a family of artistes not becoming an artiste becomes an unexpected surprise!

Milind Raikar was born in December 1964, in a family where music was abounding in Goa. Young master Milind showed a great promise in music from his childhood. He appeared on the stage for the first time as a singer at the age of five.

Milind Initially learnt from his father Shri Atchut Raikar, Pt B. S. Math (Violinist from Dharwad) and Pt. Vasantrao Kadnekar (Vocalist from Kala Academy Goa).

He is mainly disciple of Padmashri Pandit D. K. Datar and Gaasaraswati Padma Vibhushan Late Shreemati Kishoritai Amonkar.

In 2006, He established Raikar academy of violin to propagate the music style of his Guru Padit Datar, where students of all ages could come and learn Violin.
